Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering


Maged Elaasar earned his Ph.D. in Systems and Computer Engineering degree from the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada in November, 2012.

Maged’s Ph.D. research was in the area of model-driven engineering (MDE), with a┬ádissertation titled An Approach to Design Pattern and Anti-Pattern Detection in MOF-Based Modeling Languages. Maged’s research included carrying out large case studies including 1) detecting Gang of Four design patterns in UML, 2) detecting Control Flow in BPMN, and 3) detecting Metamodeling Anti-Patterns in MOF.
